Microsoft Clarity

The Microsoft Clarity connector brings into the sheet user behavior data (traffic, devices, sources) for your site connected to Clarity.

Authentication works differently from other connectors: instead of an OAuth login, it uses a token you generate manually in Clarity (Settings > Data Export > Generate new API token). The token is tied to a single Clarity site/project: if you manage more than one, you'll need a separate connection for each, with a name of your choice (Clarity does not expose a retrievable site name via its API).

No selectable metrics: the API always returns every available data block (traffic, devices, sources, etc.), there's no way to choose which ones to include.

No custom date range: the period is limited to three fixed windows (last 24, 48 or 72 hours), not a real calendar like other connectors.

• Max 3 dimensions per report
  You can combine at most 3 of the available dimensions in the same report (a Clarity API limit).
• 10 calls per day limit per Clarity project
  The Microsoft Clarity API accepts at most 10 requests per day for each project/site. Once the limit is reached, further runs fail until the next day: if you schedule frequent automatic reports on this connector, keep this in mind when setting the schedule frequency.
• Offset and Limit still work, even though they are not in the form
  The dedicated Microsoft Clarity form does not show Offset and Limit fields, but the "Offset" and "Limit" columns in the configuration sheet still work: if you fill them in by hand, they are applied to the data already downloaded (the Clarity API does not support pagination, so the filtering happens after the download). If you leave "Limit" blank, a default limit of 10,000 rows is used.
• Max 1,000 rows per response, no pagination
  The API returns a single response with no further pages, up to a maximum of 1,000 total rows.
• "Append Rows" is always on
  Unlike other connectors, accumulating results over time is always on here and cannot be disabled: the Clarity API keeps no history, so each run adds that moment's rows to the ones already there instead of overwriting them.
• Columns adapt to the data received
  The column layout "freezes" after the first successful report: if a later run returns new columns, they are added at the end; if some are missing compared to before, they are left blank for that row instead of disappearing. Already-written columns never change position, so as not to misalign data already accumulated via Append Rows.
