Configuration Sheet Fields
What each column of the "Magic Reports Configuration" sheet means, shared by every connector.
Every report created from the sidebar takes up one column in the "Magic Reports Configuration" sheet: you can have as many reports as columns, each with its own connector, filters and schedule. The table below explains what each row (field) of that column means. These are generic explanations, valid for any connector: if a field behaves differently or is not available for the connector you are using, you will find it noted on that connector's own documentation page.
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Data Source* | The connector and connection used for this report. Written automatically when you create the report: do not edit it by hand, or the report stops working. |
| Report name* | The name you give the report. It must be unique in the sheet: two reports with the same name will not both run. |
| Property id* | The resource this report is based on (a property, a site, an account... depending on the connector). The exact format depends on the connector you are using. |
| Property name | A friendly label for the resource above, shown at the top of the report so you can recognize it at a glance. Leave it empty and some connectors will fill it in automatically. |
| Start date* / End date* | The report period, in yyyy-mm-dd format. Some connectors also accept other formats (relative dates, keywords, a Google Sheets formula): see the documentation for the connector you are using. |
| Compare start date / Compare end date | Optional: the start and end of one or more earlier periods to compare your data with. Currently only supported by Google Analytics 4 (up to 3 extra comparison periods, for a total of 4 date ranges): for every other connector these two cells are read and preserved in the sheet, but ignored at run time. |
| Metrics* | The metrics to include in the report. Search and add them from the sidebar, or type them directly here, separated by commas. |
| Dimensions | The dimensions to include in the report. Same mechanism as metrics: sidebar or manual comma-separated entry. Some connectors do not let you freely choose dimensions (e.g. Matomo): see their documentation. |
| Metric filters / Dimension filters | The conditions used to filter the report's rows. Built with the sidebar's filter panel; manual editing is also possible, but the exact format depends on the connector. |
| Order by | How the report data is sorted. Built from the sidebar; the format it is saved in depends on the connector. |
| Offset | How many rows to skip from the start of the results, after filters and sorting are applied. The first row is row 0. |
| Limit | The maximum number of rows to return. Leave it empty to use the connector's default. The real hard cap (how many rows you can actually get, whatever you ask for) depends on the connector: see its documentation. |
| Currency code | Used by some connectors for monetary values, in ISO 4217 format (e.g. USD, EUR). On connectors where this does not apply, this cell may be repurposed for something else: see that connector's documentation. |
| Other options | Options managed by the sidebar depending on the connector, for example converting numeric-looking values to numbers or appending new results to existing ones instead of overwriting them. |
| Skip report | Set this to TRUE to skip the report when you run "Run reports", without having to delete it. |
| Show Quotas | If supported by the connector, shows the used and remaining API quota at the top of the report. Set to TRUE to turn it on. |
| Hide report header | Set to TRUE to hide the extra information and totals above the data: the report starts right at row 1. |
| Send to e-mail | The address to send the report's result to by email, as an Excel attachment, on every run. Leave it empty to send nothing. |
| Report status | The status of the last run: COMPLETED, PENDING (for connectors with asynchronous execution) or ERROR (with the error detail). |
