Google Analytics 4 - Documentation

The Google Analytics 4 connector brings into the sheet the data of the GA4 property you connect: sessions, users, events, ecommerce and any other metric or dimension available for that property.

API quota monitoring (consumed/remaining) for the connected Google Cloud project is also available: today it is enabled by manually typing TRUE into the matching cell of the report configuration row (not yet available as a Sidebar control).

Start and end dates are written in YYYY-MM-DD format, or with the keywords accepted directly by the Google Analytics 4 API: today, yesterday, NdaysAgo (e.g. 7daysAgo). You can also write a Google Sheets formula that returns a date, useful for a report that updates itself on every run (e.g. =EOMONTH(TODAY(),-1) for the last day of the previous month).

You can compare your data against one or more earlier periods: by writing dates into the "Compare start date" and "Compare end date" cells of the report configuration row, you can add up to 3 extra comparison periods (comma-separated within the same cell), for a total of 4 date ranges crossed in the same report. Dates use the same flexible format as the main dates (yyyy-mm-dd, XdaysAgo, today, yesterday, or a Google Sheets formula).

There is no fixed list: metrics are read live from your property through Google's API, so they automatically include any custom metrics you have configured, if any. Sampling

If a report requires analyzing a very large number of events, Google Analytics may base the result on a representative subset of the data instead of analyzing all of it (standard properties have a 10 million event threshold per query). This decision is made by Google's own servers before the data ever reaches Magic Reports: the connector cannot disable or work around it. To reduce the chance of it happening, shorten the report period or the number of dimensions requested.
Maximum 250,000 rows per request

If the "Limit" field is left empty, 10,000 rows are returned. Whatever value you request, the Google Analytics 4 API never returns more than 250,000 rows in a single request.
Privacy thresholds (thresholding)

Google Analytics may omit some data from a report if it does not meet a minimum aggregation threshold, to protect user privacy (typically on very small segments or infrequent dimension combinations). This is also a decision made by Google, not something the connector can change.
Totals may not match the sum of the rows

For metrics like sessions or active users, the report total can differ by a few units from the sum of the displayed rows. Google Analytics calculates these totals with a statistical estimation algorithm (HyperLogLog++) independent from the row by row count, or the total may include rows that privacy thresholding hid from the list. This is not a filter or connector error: the gap is proportionally more visible with small numbers.
High cardinality

If a report has too many distinct combinations of dimension values, Google Analytics groups the least frequent combinations into a single "(other)" row instead of listing them individually. This logic is also internal to Google Analytics, not the connector.
